OUR OUTREACH MINISTRIES!

Stewardship... Implement plans, coordinate and strengthen the quality of life of our members, by ministering to their spiritual, cultural, educational and economic needs. In a broader perspective, this ministry exists to embrace the kingdom of God on earth through our witness, work and the proclamation of the Word. To provide each member with an opportunity to serve and share their gifts, skills and talents to help build the church and develop successful and strong relationships within the body of Christ.

Hospital Visits... see that sick members and other individuals are visited both as clergy and laity. Thie ministry cares enough to take the time to make visits to dialogue, pray with and show individuals that God and the church care.

Nursing Homes...spread the Word so that those who are unsaved may be inspired to come to Jesus and those who have met Him will grow in their faith, through twice a month visits.

Jail Ministry... arranges for visits to the jails for worship services and programs such as Bible Study in Oakland and Wayne Counties.

Youth Ministry... a group of youth and adult leaders whose sole purpose is to learn, share the Word and to love the Lord. This ministry energizes equips and enables our youth to be the best that they can be and to glorify God in all that they do. The ministry trains young people to have the mind of Christ, to gain knowledge of the Word and to grow in the wisdom of the Lord. Grow with us!

Here is part one of our Tenth Annual Music Extravaganza featuring The Gospel Deliverers, with guests Stairway to Heaven, Predestined, GOd's Golden Voices, Pastor Milhouse and Family, Gospel Soul Touchers, The Lord's Messengers, Soloist Angelia Johnson, and Brother Kaymon Smith.

Part Two of our Tenth Annual Music Extravaganza.

Pastor Joseph Chatten teaches on how to have a submissive mind to the will of God. Key Scripture passage is Philippians 2:13. What motivates us to want to receive? God must work in us before He can work through us. God had a special purpose to fulfill in the Old Testament prophets. Do what you have to do, don not try to be like someone else. Fulfill your own obligations and destiny. God is able to mold and work through people. The workman is you and I. Too may Christians serve God from pressures on the outside instead of God's power on the inside. Make sure you are doing what God would have you to do. While we are here we need to strive to do the work and will of God. Acts 5:29. Whom should men follow? We should obey God rather than man. You have to be steady in the Word, do not just obey God when others are watching. Bible texts discussed include John 14:16; Romans 7:5; Ephesians 1:18; Luke 1:37; Heb. 11:1, 6; Matthew 12:13; 14:22. It is faith in God's promise that releases His power. 2 Corinthians 1:20; Ephesians 3:20; Romans 8:26; Zech. 12:10; Acts 6:4; 1 Peter 4:12-19; Acts 16:19-33. Homework: Philippians chapter two. God bless!

Pastor Joseph Chatten speaking on the ins and outs of Christian living. God works in and we work out! We need to work to full completion of God's plan for our lives. Matthew 5:16 tells us to let our light shine and glorify our Father in Heaven. Christlikeness is to be conformed to the image of His Son, Jesus Christ. Romans 8:20. We need to know what it means to work out our salvation. Our God is a God of infinite variety. Why should two Christians be exactly the same? We are all unique individuals with unique gifts. We are not to be cheap imitations of other people. Be yourself. Second Timothy 2:15 tells us to study to show ourselves approved. First Corinthians 11:1. The Christian measures his self by God's Word. The world's problems are because man has stepped too far away from God. Assignment: read Matthew chapter 23 this week!

Pastor Joseph Chatten presents another soul-inspiring, faith-strengthening message entitled, "Whose Life Do You Share?" Our Scripture text is the Gospel of John 17:1-5, and the first petition in the Lord's Prayer in Mathew 6:9, with special notice of the first emphasis in this prayer. Also read John 2:4 and Psalm 31:15. The word, Glory, is used five times in these words of Christ in John 17. The Lord gave you an assignment to do, have you finished the work God assigned you? Christ asked that His pre-incarnation glory be given him again. The greatest glory He brought the Father was His death on Calvary. The Cross magnified the grace and glory of God. This included His message and miracles. Hebrew 9:24-28; 10:11-18; John 5:17-19 should be read and pondered. Christ opened the Way for you and to have eternal life. Believers are the love gift to His beloved Son. John 3:15-16, 46-47; 10:28; Rom. 10:9. People can be devotedly religious and still not know God. Examine your own heart! 1 John 5:4; Rev. 12:11.

Pastor Joseph Chatten with a message on "Men Die but the Word Lives" presented at a recent church service, based on a Scripture text in Second Peter 1:12-15. Christ is the Foundation, the Chief Cornerstone. If the church is to last, it cannot be built on men but on Jesus Christ. John 21:18; Acts 12:1. The Apostle Peter was immortal until his work was done. We need obedience to Christ. Second Peter chapter 1, verses 12 and 15. Take care of your Spiritual responsibilities while you can. First Peter 5:13. Men die but the Word of God lives on; our own righteousness is as filthy rags. Matthew 6:33. May the Holy Spirit continue to teach you all things needful for your life.

A message on the healing power of Jesus Christ, based upon a Scripture text in Matthew 4:23. Are you committed to the Word so the Holy Spirit can work mightily in you? Proverbs 4:7 tells us, "With all thy getting get understanding." Get knowledge, get understanding. Christ wants you and I to be holy with wholeness. Jesus heals both the Spirit and physical body. The Gospel is that the Kingdom of God has come and that he cares for us and heals us of our physical and spiritual sicknesses. Matthew 9:1-8 tells us that we have to first come to know Jesus. Matthew 6:33 says, Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and all these things will be added to you.

Pastor Joseph Chatten with another message in the series, How Rich You Are, part 2. No written accusation stands against us because our sins are taken away by the blood of the Cross. You need the definition of what being rich in Christ means. We are talking about the Spiritual significance. Mystery means a Sacred Secret now revealed to God's people. Once hidden, now revealed. You are a part of God's inner circle as a Christian. Christ will one day unite all things in Christ. We have a great inheritance in Christ. We are blessed, we are rich! First Peter 1:1-4. We are the Father's love gift to the Son. Study John 17 as homework. "Those whom Thou hast given me." Ephesians 1:22-23; Ephesians 5; Romans 8:17. We are joint heirs with Christ. D.L. Moody said, "Lord save the elect and then save some more." You are an instrument in that saving evangelism to be used of the Lord. Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:13-15; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. This is God's plan of evangelism.

How Rich You Are! A message based on Ephesians 1:46. The doctrine of election has confused some and confounded others...Try to explain it away and you might lose your soul! John 15:16 and Romans 3:10-11, lost sinners are left to their own ways, the ways of the world, the carnal mind. Luke 19:10 tells us that God chose us even before He created the universe. He chose us in Christ for a purpose, to be holy and without blame. It carries a great responsibility. God 's grace makes Him willing to respond. 1 Peter 1:3 says we were chosen in Christ in eternity past. You were saved when He died for you on the cross and it is applied to you when you accept Christ as your savior. First Peter 1:5 informs us that He has adopted us. No where in the Bible are people predestined to hell. Predestined means to order beforehand. Acts 4:25, 28 is your homework assignment! Romans 8:27-30, Ephesians 1:11, tell us that adoption has a dual meaning. New birth is by adoption, an act of God by which He gives His born again ones an upstanding in His family. Why does He do this? So we may obtain our spiritual wealth. We can claim it right now. Romans 8:22-23, the glorified body we will have when Christ returns. The world cannot see the goodness of God like we see the goodness of God. Our private adoption will be seen by everyone when He returns. Read Ephesians 1:6; Philippians 17:19; 1 Peter 1:P18; Galatians 5:1; Romans 6; Galatians 1:4; Colossians 1:13-14; Ephesians 1:7. God bless you all!

The Spirit enables us to fulfill the law of love. We present Pastor Joseph Chatten with a message on how the Spirit enables us to fulfill the law of love. We are under the law of Christ (Galatians 5:2; 4:29). It is the Holy Spirit that gives assurance of salvation and enables us to emulate Him. The Divine person is applied to your life as you yield to Him. We are prone to go to the extremes. Some interpret liberty as a license to do whatever they please. Between license and legalism is true Christian liberty free from the power of sin in our daily life. Galatians 1:6 tells us that we are under liberty because we are under the grace of Christ. Grace and liberty go hand in hand. Doing away with laws and regulations would send society into chaos. Hebrews 12:15; First Peter 5:12 assure us that there is a true and a false grace of God, which turns grace into license. Jude 4 tells us that Christian liberty is not a license to sin, but an opportunity to serve Go in righteousness and truth. Galatians 5:13 reminds us that by love we serve one another. Liberty plus love equals service to others!

A New Beginning! Resurrection Mission Baptist Church of Berkley, Michigan, Oakland County, presents Pastor Joseph Chatten with an inspiring study based on the book of Joshua 8:1-2: "And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear not, neither be thou dismayed: take all the people of war with thee, and arise, go up to Ai: see, I have given into thy hand the king of Ai, and his people, and his city, and his land: And thou shalt do to Ai and her king as thou didst unto Jericho and her king: only the spoil thereof, and the cattle thereof, shall ye take for a prey unto yourselves: lay thee an ambush for the city behind it." We also look at Psalm 37:23; 27:14. You are also encouraged to go to a Bible Concordance and study the "fear not" statements of the Bible. They were spoken to various people in various places. See: Isaiah 41 through 44; Luke chapters 6 through 8; Joshua 7:1-5; Psalm 23; Ephesians 6:17. Today you can be easily defeated if you do not have some sort of faith. As Christians, God has given us the victory because of His Word in your heart.

The Word of God Dwells Within You RIchly! More interest is shown in movies and entertainment today than in the Word of God. Pay more attention to the Word of God and movement of the Spirit. Spend time with the Word of God and in prayer. Spend some time with God. A sinner has no more right to sing a lie than a preacher has to preach a lie. We need to study more, pray more. Hymns are psalms of praise, expressions of Bible truths. It is a dangerous thing to separate the Word of God from the praise of God. We address the Lord when we sing a psalm. 1 Corinthians 14:26. We should not show a display of fleshly talent but of the Grace of God in our hearts. A successful Christian is identified by three things: their Bible, their pocketbook, and hymnbook. Grow in the Word and you will grow in your expression of praise. It speaks Spiritual truths. Are you not glad that you walk with Christ and that the Spirit of God dwells within you? Ephesians 6:19; 5:18-21; Colossians 3:16; 4:1. Be joyful, thankful and submissive to His Will!

Resurrection Mission Baptist Church of Berkley, Michigan, Oakland County, presents Pastor Joseph Chatten with an uplifting message on knowing the Will of God and your place in it, based on a passage of Scripture in Colossians 3:15. We are told to confess and believe in Romans 10:9. If we step out of His Will we lose His Peace, because the peace of Christ is working mightily in your heart. We are told in Matthew 6:33 to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these other things will be provided to you. Bring the peace and harmony you have in your heart to other people. Confess your sin, claim God's forgiveness. Christ took care of all that when he hung on the cross. He said, "Father forgive them, for they know not what they do." When there is peace in the heart, there is praise on the lips! John 14:1 gives further instruction on this. Worry is a sin. Be ye thankful in your hearts and minds for God's great goodness.

Resurrection Mission Baptist Church of Berkley, Michigan, Oakland County, presents Pastor Joseph Chatten delivering an inspiring message on humbleness of mind, based on Colossians 3:12-14. We learn to have the proper estimate of ourselves in the Will of God. We need a change of mind: Romans 12:3. A humble person thinks of others first and not of oneself. We must also put on meekness. Meekness is not weakness, it is power under control. Put on long-suffering, a sign of holy character. Do not be angry for the wrong reasons, stay in control, be strong in his Word. Be fore-bearing; defined as "to hold up or hold back." God holds back His judgment: Romans 2:4; 3:25; Colossians 3:13; Ephesians 6:10; Matthew 18:15-35.

Grace In Christ. Resurrection Mission Baptist Church of Berkley, Michigan, Oakland County, presents Pastor Joseph Chatten with an inspirational sermon on the Grace of Christ, based upon a Scripture passage in Colossians 3:12-14. This message explains that the elect are the chosen of God, not man. Ephesians 1:4 also tells us that God chose us before the foundation of the world. Election is a sacred secret that belongs to God's people. We learn in Second Timothy 2:19 that the Lord knows those who are His. First Corinthians 6:19-20 explains that we are new creatures in Christ Jesus. The strongest motivating power in the world is love and in Colossians 2:13 we learn about God's loving forgiveness.

Resurrection Mission Baptist Church of Berkley, Michigan, Oakland County, presents Pastor Joseph Chatten speaking on having a good conscience. Our conscience is the external will that witnesses to us, approving or opposing our actions. It is a window that lets in the light of God's Truth. Scripture passages include John 15:18-21; Ephesians 5:11; Romans 2:14-15; Titus 1:15; Philippians 2:15; 1 Timothy 4:2; 2 Timothy 2:15; Ephesians 6:10; Matthew 6:33.

Resurrection Mission Baptist Church of Berkley, Michigan, Oakland County, presents Pastor Joseph Chatten with an inspiring message on putting into practice the Lordship of Christ.
